"Brahmins who were the pioneers of social revolutions in Hinduism Dharma"

In fact it was Brahmins who were the pioneers of social revolutions in Hinduism Dharma ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ•‰️๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿ™

People like Veer  Sawarkar, Gokhale and Tilak , Dr hedgewar & Shri guru golwalkarji  were raising voices against the misdeeds of their own caste..

Survival is the key to success…

Post-independence Brahmins had to suffer a lot…

Firstly due to anti Brahmin riots post Gandhi murder..

Many Brahmin families owned a large chunk of land which was given on lease for farming to tenants aka “Kul”… Overall revenues were shared mutually between the owner and Kul… However, soon after independence then land ownership rules were changed by government… Land owners had no legal right to the farming land leased to tenants anymore… almost 60% of Brahmin society was negatively impacted..

See Bombay land act 1948

Also the core skills of Brahmins was challenged when government declared to provide reservations in education system…

With advancement in educational system, the former ways of Brahmin lifestyle were challenged at its very core… Gurukul tradition which was the backbone of our education system once, became extinct soon… Education was slowly becoming freely and easily available for more and more sections of society… With advancement in Science and Education more and more people started doing away with Religious activities like Yadnya and Poojas which was a the main source of Income for Brahmins…

Resurrection …

Brahmins soon found themselves surrounded by unfavorable situations from all directions… Their agricultural lands were snatched away “Lawfully”, their incomes were dwindling and supremacy once they enjoyed in society and education was on decline… in fact Brahmins, sometimes, were the victims of hate crimes from other castes just because they were Brahmins… Historically too, Brahmins were never united as a society like OBCs or Sc / ST …. That made them even more vulnerable in the adverse situations…

Left with no other option, Brahmins focused on the only thing they could possibly do… Improve themselves…

They quickly accepted the fact, that as a Brahmin, they will never enjoy the supremacy they once had… The old ways of oppressing others to keep yourself ahead are over… They cannot rely on their traditional skills like Veda’s, religious activities and teaching for their survival… Laws, masses and social opinion is and will stay against Brahmins for days to follow… The only way ahead was to improve themselves…

Brahmins showcased amazing flexibility as a society to quickly adopt to the changed norms…

They focused on their own excellence in areas like Science (Doctors and Scientists), technology (Engineers) and culture (Arts, Music, Literature)… Instead of focusing on what they lost during last 2 centuries, they focused on what they can still earn…

When others were fighting for reservations in education, Government jobs, Brahmins were busy studying hard to get admission in world class institutes… Government jobs were out of question due to reservations at all levels (Entry, Promotion quota etc)…

Brahmins instead started with Private sector jobs which would earn them the pay scale they deserve.. Instead of waiting for Government hospitals, doctors started their own practice… Lawyers started own firms and so did the CAs and Tax consultants…

With the rise of industrialization and Globalization trends, Brahmins were quick to find and seize new opportunities in multiple fields…

While much of society is still fighting for reservations and concessions, Brahmins have taken the pain to go through the struggle of securing their position in the society and adopted to the ever changing rules quiet aptly…

Long story in short..

“The constant struggle through which Brahmins were put, left them with no other choice but to search alternatives for survival… During the journey, they were transformed into a diverse, flexible and influential yet soft and humble part of the society..”

Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar gave a beautiful and meaningful mantra to all his followers… “Ignore those who keep abusing you… Learn new things, achieve excellence and help others to achieve the same”…

Unfortunately many of his followers seem to have forgot the meaning of this mantra…

Ironically it was Brahmins to understood the true meaning of it, adopted and transformed themselves fighting against all odds… In a sense, Brahmins of today’s era are the true followers of Babasaheb Ambedkar…
