Dravid(a) is a Sanskrit word : ‘wise people who always lived by water or people who are personification of ‘Flow of Knowledge’.
What does the word "Dravida" mean?
Dravid(a) is a Sanskrit word.
The roots : Drav + Vid
Drav - means water(liquid), Flow, Flowing
Vid (like in Vid-vat or Vid-wan) knowledge, wisdom; Knowledgeable or Wise person
In a verbal sense: it means ‘Flowing Knowledge’
From a Noun perspective: it means ‘Knowledgeable or wise people living by(along with) water (wise people who live near by water, water bodies, lakes, rivers, seas)
Remember ‘Adi Shankaracharya’ introduced himself as ‘Dravida Putra’ - saying that he belongs to ‘wise people who always lived by water or people who are personification of ‘Flow of Knowledge’.
At least 1200 years ago, the great Advaita philosopher Adi Shankara called himself a "Dravida Shishu" in the famous Sanskrit composition Soundarya Lahari praising Devi (75th shloka). So Dravida is not a 20th or 19th century concept, it existed millenia before Dravida Politics.
Basically as we travel south vindhyas, one will be coming to closure to water-bodies on all sides (three seas) - so the land south of vindhyas is in generally called as ‘Dravida desam or Dravida bhoomi’ and the people are known as Dravid’(a)s.
Arya means noble, wise, fearless - one who follows Dharma truly, and Dharma here means doing the right thing for humanbeings and every being.
Theories of Arya coming from outside are imaginations of those who themseleves came from outside like all invaders…. all invaders who came from Mongol, Turkey, Afgan, Arab, Britain, Portugal .
Hence their guilt made them believe that even Aryans came from outside.
Saying that Aryans are different than others like Dravid is wrong. Aryan is an adjective, honor given to anyone from Bharat in ancient time - to those who were truly followers of Dharma, where as Dravida is regional Identity like Banga, Marhatta, Utkal, Gurjar, Malwa, Kathewad in those days.
So all the children of Bharatbhumi are one and let it be Dravida, Kashmiri, Bang, Utkal, Marhatta, Punjab or any other region we all are children of the great Aryavrata ( Bharat varsha / Hindustan / India) ⛳🕉 🇮🇳 🌹🙏
Bharat mata ki Jay 💞🌹🙏
Vande Mataram 💞🌹🙏
It is biggest truth & fact ,
How Britisher divided our nation into north & south in name of Aryan & Dravidian & rule the whole Bharat varsha 250 year & also Islamic Mughal & Britisher divided our nation
into 12 country from Iran to Indonesia from 1200AD to 1947 AD.
" You go to Telangana or Goa or Karnataka and you would hardly find anyone crazy about Dravidian politics. Only Tamil Nadu had this Dravidian politics that too for a brief period in the 20th century when a few politicians wanted to use that to rise up and break the hold of Congress.
This Aryan-Dravidian divide is a myth perpetuated by colonial rulers for their own game. Even if the Aryan Migration Theory is true, it is quite likely that the “Aryans” migrated all the way south. While the adivasis have some different genetic markers, the dominant groups in Tamil Nadu and rest of south bharat have a big mix of genetic markers with the north - Genetics and archaeogenetics of South Asia.
Culturally too, north and south had the same gods [ Mahadev Shiva, Vishnu, Shakti, Shri Ganesha, Shri Surya, B
hagwan Parshuram, Shri Ram, Murugan,
Brahma ], had same religions, had similar names [major Tamil kings widely use Sanskrit names].
Pandyan, Chola, Chera , Chalukyas, Pallavas, Satvahanas, Vijayanagar Nayaks and other key south Bharatiya dynasties were all heavily connected in culture, language and religion with the north of Bharat Varsh.🕉️🚩💕💐🙏
Whatever this Aryan identity is, that is the identity of Whole Bharat - not just the north ".
